☆.。2 Year SF ☆

I don’t know if March 22nd was the exact day my account was activated because somebody threw out the calendar I had at the time but it’s been about two years since I first actually joined the community! 🙂 I don’t want this blog to turn all sentimental but I’m really glad I joined and am friends with you guys.

2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog. (my stats were so bad this year probably due to my inactivity and the loss of the TZ lmao)

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 990 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 17 trips to carry that many people.

Happy New Year!

Happy (almost) new year! Over break I went to see TFA with my family, and we’re going to go see it again with my dad. ^·^

My opinion on the possible SFTZ returns that it will be different, but this is what we asked for…? I probably wouldn’t really go on there anymore because a lot of the SFs I chatted with have left and I’m not as interested in the folding aspect of the site anymore. I’ll post the year end WP stats and that’ll be it for 2015 ⭐

Blog Update

I honestly don’t know what to post here anymore, what do you think? I was thinking I could just post humorous things and the occasional art piece or just write? (and a little bit of origami)  I’m probably going to post a lot less now but I’m not leaving. :3

Birthday Doodle for Tom

Happy birthday Tom! I’m so glad I read the amazing Origami Yoda series and met stooky SuperFolders through the site, even if some of them have left.

(I know this isn’t one of my best doodles, I made it at school in the planners we are supposed to write in…)

Also, view festive birthday capybaras here. 🐱

I MET TOM :0

After driving around the huge building a few times, my mom and I finally spot the bookstore and she parks the car. I grabbed my Pickletine book, 1,000th Ewok and the 3D printed SF bracelet. (And I’m awkwardly smiling because of all the excitement/nervousness) Inside the store a lady gives me a wristband and says we have about 40 minutes until Tom’s event. My mom uses this as time to browse the cookbook section… Could I interest you in Thug Kitchen: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a &!@#  ?

The little kids start arriving to hear McToad read aloud, and I’m sitting in the front row. A few minutes later Tom came onto the “stage area” and he was so funny and stooky! 😀 First, he asked if there were any SuperFolders in the room (I was the only one) and everyone shows him their origami. I had my Ewok but most people hadn’t brought any except for this very young girl who has a nana that folded the Yoda and she didn’t help at all. XD He tells us we are going to be contestants in a game show and asked if we knew what it’s called and this one kid (later dubbed Larry by Tom) raises his hand and then yells “I..um..I FORGOT…,”

Tom writes ‘I FORGOT’ on the top of a large piece of paper. The rules were that he was going to draw a character from any one of his books and whoever could guess who it was wins the paper. After a few rounds he starts drawing a face, a president’s face and I guess Rat with the Human Face. Since I think this was to kind of advertise his books he draws a pile of poop and tells the audience how three kids looking for adventure go to visit a sewage treatment plant. Tom draws another square and draws a huge cross over it because what happens in the next QwikPick book is so horrific he tried to get it banned for banned books week! o_0 It was weird being called my SF name in real life. Most of the audience was begging for him to draw a Star Wars character and to sum up I Forgot, Tom drawsRSCN2767 Dwight with Origami Yoda. IMG_20151001_193128990

After that there was the McToad story time, complete with sound affects. If my sister still loved frogs, toads and transportation I think she would love McToad.

Near the end of the event, Tom signed books and origami. He signed my Pickletine book and drew an Ewok. I had the Yoda from when we all folded them, and he asked said I probably wanted it to have a cute face and drew him a cute face! :3 Also shook hands with him and my mom took pictures. Actually, she took all the pictures at the bookstore, I’m not one of those people who crouches behind their camera the whole time. I had so much fun at the event and Tom is so funny and nice to fans of his books! 😀

Meeting Tom in October!

I’m finally going to meet Tom! I wish I could have met him when I was a little more obsessed with the OY series but I’m still really excited! Since I found it, I’m going to give him the 1,000th Ewok. ^-^ I wonder if there will be any SFs I know from the site… probably not… It’s going to be fizzpop rockets!

Origami Yoda Poster

DSCN2727I’m really happy with this because I worked so hard on it and it’s the first time in a while I have made and posted any OY art. The spiral in the left corner is a lot bigger because when I started this I didn’t know what I was going to draw and then I just started spirals afterwards.

DSCN2724Also, a few weeks ago Rat with the Human Face arrived in the mail! I really                                                                             enjoyed it, but definitely not as much as Poop Fountain.

Funtime Wannabes On a Budget

We actually had to watch this on the first day of school… There are other versions with “better” rapping but if you really want to see them you can look them up yourself. (And if you didn’t know, this is a parody of a real song.)
